Dance.

Dance is truly my life.

Dance is such a great way to express yourself and be who you want to be. In just a simple movement, one can portray thoughts, feelings, emotions, actions, anything. Dance is such a breathtaking field of exposure and I can't imagine my life without it.

I've danced since I was 4 years old and haven't quit for one single minute. Dancing is one of my passions in life, and I am still continuing by getting my minor in dance here in college. I also still compete with the studio that I teach for because the owner loves to watch me dance alongside her students. No matter how bruised, beat up, and tired I get, I never want to stop dancing. Dancing has a way of making me feel like for the whole 2 and a half minutes I'm on stage, everyone's eyes are on me and can see exactly what I'm feeling. Opening my own dance studio would be a dream come true for me.

My most recent work of dance is dedicated to my Uncle Kenny who passed away June 1, 2007. I got a tattoo recently in his memory with a bluebird that says "Free Bird" under it. Free Bird by Lynard Skynard was his favorite song, so I chose this song for a solo in an upcoming recital. I hope to convey the struggle I went through of losing him to my audience so that they can feel exactly what I feel for my uncle, to this day. He was the first family member that I had taken from me, so he will always have a special place in my heart.

I hope this encourages more people to want to go out and dance or even just go watch dance. I go watch people dance because I love watching people who love what they do. Having the ability to love something so much, is a great joy in life.
